confused

Does anyone ever feel they need way more advice than they can offer anyone? I am so indecisive, shy, nervous, afraid, and confused about everything, I tend to act before thinking at times, or I waste so much time thinking that I don't do anything, and when I do make a choice in a timely fashion, most of the time, I make the wrong choice or it just doesn't work out. One supposed example, about 18 months ago, I decided to pull out in front of that damn 3/4 ton pickup instead of waiting another 5 minutes or so for an opening, or just turn right and take another route to work that day. I remember the days before having trouble getting an opening in both directions so I could make that left, I was trying to attempt this about 5:30pm during the week. The route I usually take to work is a bad way to go during this event, so I was trying to go another way that works. Last Sept.-Oct. when this event happened again, I was at a different post, so going my normal route was the best option then. Like I've mentioned before, my husband told me to pick a place to live since I'll be the one living there while he's gone, but he doesn't like any of my choices despite him telling me about those places. I don't have another job, I don't know what kind of job to try and get, last time I actively looked, after 2 years, I couldn't take the rejection anymore and quit looking. I don't want to try that field anymore, but it's all I've wanted to do since I was about 15. I don't think I interview well, I'm shy, so it's hard to talk to someone, especially a stranger. I didn't have to interview for my current job, my mom just told our boss about me, and I've proven to her that I'm dependable. But those jobs that require being dependable are now the jobs I can't handle because of my injuries. I'm still paying for that mistake I apparently made 18 months ago, my leg hurts quite a bit, more so when it's cold (it's always cold at my job, unless your outside in 100 degree Wx), I don't remember the accident, so idk if and when I'm making the same mistake again, I get confused easily (head trauma, short term memory loss), and my husband and I have to be careful touching the left side of my face (where the glass was removed). My right leg falls asleep easily, it's hard to "wake up" and it shakes a lot more than it used to. I still put more weight on the right leg than the left, and it will hurt from that, when I make the effort to switch, the left leg hurts. I'm still going to physical therapy, but I can't tell if it's helping or not, my balance seems worse than I remember it being, but I don't remember things very well. What am I supposed to do about anything and everything? I'm only typing out about half of it!

funny twitter message

edgetulsa Hide the kids and grab your bibles. I'm about to play some Manson! Hopefully, lightning won't strike our studios

Is it just me, or does that remind you of your dad as well? Nice way to wake up, a twitter text that makes you think, "That sounds like something your estranged father would say." I guess that also happens at hard rock stations located in the center of the frekin bible belt. Just thought I'd share that w/everyone who reads this.

Twitter

Is it weird that on Twitter, I follow people, websites, blogs, and a talk radio station w/different political views? Some great examples: Republicans that come to mind are a congressman, the before-mentioned talk radio station, and one of their on-air personalities. Democrats are a blog, at least one of their writers, and what I believe to be Obama's official twitter page. I don't consider myself a very political person, I grew up w/Republican parents, and still live in my home state, which is mainly Republican, but I am registered Democrat, and usually believe their views on things more than the Republicans. The radio station and their on-air personality has an easy explanation, in the mornings from 6-7 am, they are not only broadcasting on 2 radio stations, they are also on tv. As someone who at one time wanted to work in radio, seeing all the behind the scenes stuff is worth sitting through their talk. (You also find out how good of broadcasters they are, yesterday, a local mascot visited their studios, the traffic reporter didn't mess up or giggle while the giant bull was dancing right behind him!) That could also explain why I like to Twitter w/the local media, at least the ones I read, see, and hear on a somewhat regular basis. I used to not like Twitter as much, but now I'm getting more into it.

my car's what?

GM Recall:

"General Motors Corp. is recalling 1.5 million vehicles in the U.S. to fix a glitch in an engine component that may cause oil to leak and lead to a fire.

The move includes certain Buick, Chevrolet, Oldsmobile and Pontiac cars from model years 1997 to 2003, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said on its Web site.

Oil could drop on the exhaust manifold, posing a risk of engine fire. The recall for Detroit-based GM will begin in May, the agency said.

The recall affects Buick Regals from model years 1997 to 2003; Chevrolet vehicles including 1998 and 1999 Luminas, 1998- to-2003 Monte Carlos and Impalas from model years 2000 to 2003; the 1998 and 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue; and some Pontiac Grand Prix cars from model years 1997 to 2003."

The car I wrecked about 18 months ago is on there, and my current vehicle may be recalled as well (a Grand Prix from model years 1997-2003). The recall didn't affect my car wreck, but my MIL was the one to inform me about it, so I'm posting it incase you're like me, just finding out your vehicle is or may be recalled. I got this car f/my mechanic, who drove it off the showroom floor, so I'll be speaking to him next week to find out more info about it. I never really liked the car, so if it is, maybe I can get a car I actually like. I can't complain, my mom did buy it for me.

I'll end with something off-topic here, there's a show on tv right now, it's American Gladiators but w/kids, and guess who's one of the hosts: Ryan Seacrest (American Idol host)! I recognize the voice now, but the hair! lmao!

Thursday: Funny Pet Moments

P playing with a shoe string in Vx's computer chair.

more shit

Yes folks, I will be griping and complaining a lot more about my life and Army shit, so feel free to leave at this time.

Ok, for anyone who decided to stay, I hope you know what you've got yourself into. I'll start w/what time I finally got to bed, almost 7 am, I tried to earlier than that, but it didn't happen. 10 am I wake up to Vx talking on the phone as loud as he can to some guy about his damn helicoptor, then I hear my mom, she came home to shower before leaving again, she's hanging out w/a new male friend, well see how long she can stand this guy. Then Vx continues to talk as loud as he can to a representative about his and another soldier's pay f/Salsa, (incase this hasn't been said before, Salsa isn't paying Vx and another guy, the other guy is a student who has been kicked out of his place because of this, and Vx is having trouble working because of the economy and other Army BS), then he talks (loudly) to the other guy and who knows who else. One hour of sleep lost because my husband can't be quiet! Then he leaves, but instead of quiet, P decides to keep hitting the bedroom door and meowing loudly. I've told her numerous times to quit, but she didn't (typical cat). Finally my alarm clock goes off about 12:30 so I can go to physical therapy, I never got back to sleep before that, so instead of getting up to go I tried to go back to sleep, I got maybe an hour more before the kids were outside, some adults decided to fight right outside the bedroom window, and of course, the cat. I got up, made the bed, got dressed, then layed down again w/the cat. P decided to continuously bite me, then Vx came home. I got up for good, one thing led to another and we started fighting again! Money, deployment, my injuries, where we live, everything exploded out!
One point I continuously made was that he's not getting deployed, other people keep getting picked over him, he's not at that school he's supposed to be at so he can go w/Salsa, and I'm sick and tired of him continuously telling people for the last year or more that he's going, even though he's still here! He brought up the fact that I don't have another job (what job can I get? who's hiring right now? and reminders that in a few months i'll be working many, many hours, and he hasn't been looking for a job either), I haven't seen anyone about my head, (I have tried, they keep telling me to call back in 6 weeks, I do and they tell me the same thing again), where we live (he wants me to pick the place, but he veto's my choices, he claims i'll be there more than him, i remind him he's not getting deployed!), he throws away money on his hobbies all the fuckin time while I haven't enjoyed mine since November, he spent half of my last pay check on rain gear because he used his on another computer, and the point I made in a previous argument that I had to make again: we're homeless yet we have 5 computers, bunch of Army shit he bought, helicoptors, camera equipment, kung-fu equipment and lessons he won't go to because he can't learn to ignore a certain person there, storage unit he doesn't use (keeps most of his tools in his vehicle, which he got stuff stolen out of it a while back because of that, and he won't keep his other stuff there; he made the point that they broke my window as well, I told him nothing got stolen out of mine, expensive shit got taken out of his, and he keeps our marriage license that I need in there somewhere), gym membership he doesn't use, and so much more. One more thing: he says, "I have orders" my response, "You've had orders for over a year, yet you're still here!"
Like the title of this blog says, I married into this bs, yay! I do feel better now having got all this off my chest again, so if you stuck around til the end, congradulations! I'll quit now and eat some dinner, besides, I think blogger's getting ready for an outage.

The next scene features a soldier and his wife

coming home

Lot's and lot's of drama! See how the life of a newlywed Army soldier and his wife cope w/shit before a deployment (if it'll ever come!).

When I grow up...

Back in the day I thought it would say "On-Air Personality" or something related to that, not now. Idk what I want it to say eventually, right now it would probably say "Security Guard," "Bum," or "Injured." Maybe "Pharmacy Tech" will be a future title, but like I've said idk. When I figure that out, I'll let you know.

Rough day

So I finally get my ass to bed about 5 am w/laundry in the dryer, I wasn't concerned since Vx was getting up about 8. So when his alarm (cell) goes off, P being the (mostly) good kitty she is decides to help wake up the people, except she came after me, not him. All day while I was trying to sleep, she bit me, got in my face (hope colds aren't contagious to cats), laid on me, every attempt she could think of to get me up, and despite me continuously telling her "Quit biting me!" and "It's not time for me to get up!" she continued on. She's a good alarm clock when you need one, when you don't she's a pain in the ass, so no sleep for the sick. It also didn't help that Vx left his phone at home and he kept getting phone calls and text. I feel worse today than I did yesterday, and I think that's why.
Vx went to the movies w/a Sgt. f/Warriors (the source for some [if not all] of the texts/phone calls) while I stayed home. When Vx got home, he said some things that put me at ease, sounded like he understood my frustrations and he feels them as well, not just about the army and possible deployment, the whole job thing. He went to AIT w/the impression that every unit needs at least one CBRN so him getting into a unit that deploys should be no problem, now he's saying not all units have CBRN's nor do they care about chemical attacks. I tried to explain how that's about the same as my situation, I went to school for a job that's being taken over by computers. There's nothing else I really want to do, and that's the same for him, he doesn't want a different MOS and he doesn't want to go back to VA for that school or deploy w/Salsa, even though he wants to deploy. The "short bus" isn't appealing to him. Maybe things will actually start to improve now, of course now that I've actually said it (out loud) they probably won't, that seems to be my luck. The job situation has also been discussed on another blog, Left Face. These ladies have been doing a series on milspouse jobs, and have blogged on other topics, so check out what LAW, Tucker, and the other ladies have to say.

Thursday: Funny Pet Moments

I'll give this a try: Every week (give or take) I'll post something humorous about P or some other pets I hear about or a funny picture I find online. Today, I will share the story of the first time I saw P. The neighbor that rescued her was still caring for her, she had kept her inside for a month or two, and I guess today may have been her first time out of the apartment. A house behind our apt. buildings, one of the owners has at least one peacock, it flew over the fence and was located by my building, I see this white cat ready to pounce on it, when she jumps towards it, the peacock expands it's feathers and I see the cat do a backflip and run away! While the P doesn't stand for peacock, I was very tempted to name her that.

stupid cold

Uh, I'm sick! Thanks gun nuts, your probably the reason I'm sick now! I skipped physical therapy today, it's 1 am and I'm still in my pj's, I woke up about 3 pm the final time. Vx went out to dinner w/my friend and her son, she owed us money and she wanted to pay us back, I stayed home. I was planning on doing some shopping "tomorrow" but I probably won't feel like it, besides we don't really need anything and Vx's pay f/his current unit still hasn't came through, so we're kinda broke. He found out about the job he was supposed to have this summer w/his former unit, I'll call them the Warriors, Vx was supposed to work in a lab for them this summer, but they gave it to someone else in the unit since they just lost their job. It was only supposed to be for a few months, but it was a few months of steady income and w/no one wanting to build houses or remodel them, that would've been really nice.
Not to get off topic, but the Sex and the City episode that's on tv right now is the episode where this guy dressed like a sandwich was telling Miranda to "eat me!" It distracted me, now back to our regularly scheduled program...
Warriors are also the same unit that told my husband they'd get him deployed several times last year and they didn't. They're also supposed to be this higher command unit, they got him transferred to his current unit (I'll call them "Salsa") who sent him to VA just to be sent back home a few days later. Salsa is probably already hearing about some of this f/Warriors over the whole pay issue and now this VA shit.
Speaking of jobs, my boss asked me Sunday if I was going to stay w/her or transfer to another dept. like last summer, I told her I didn't know yet. 2 summers ago, I had a specific job I did, last summer I transferred for more and steady hours, the person who took my place can't do it this summer, so she wants me back. 2 summers ago, I had a better tolerance for cold and bitchy people, I lost that about 18 months ago after my car wreck, now I have a low tolerance for snobby rich people who've never been told they can't do something, and the hot cold hot cold hot environment, difficult for layering & on my "terminator leg". I'd work 80-90 hours one week, then be off work for a few weeks, and so on til November. The other dept. would only be for 2 months, and they didn't do a good job running things the last few years, so idk if I want to deal w/that BS or not. I just wish my injuries would get better, of course I had trouble getting a job since 2004, that's what I get for thinking "Since people before me didn't graduate high school were able to get that kind of job, why should I have trouble doing so w/a HS diploma and graduating f/a tech school?" Now those "drop outs" want their employees to have bachelors and masters degrees in the field. Despite what some military spouses want to believe, this is NOT a military spouse problem, for me, this started WAY before I met my husband, and before he decided to re-enlist!
Enough bitching for now, I'll try to sleep off this cold again, wish me luck!

Iraqistan

Vx still doesn't know when he's getting deployed, a school he was supposed to go to before he goes, he flew there Wednesday, Thursday? he found out he was at the wrong place, he gets to the right one, then the surprising stuff. Friday they tell him the class is full and he'd have to come back another time. He was gonna fly out of DC Friday but he wasn't able to, so he visited the White House, Lincoln Memorial, Capital building and a museum. He took a taxi back to the airport and slept there til he got on a plane Saturday. While I was at work, he sent me some pictures f/DC, so I thought he was there that day. Sometime while I was at work, he gets back here, takes a shuttle f/the airport to his sister's job then borrows her car, goes out to my mom's job, borrows her house key so he can go home, he calls me about the time I'm getting off work, wants me to "look up something on his computer for him" so he stays on the phone w/me til I get home, when I get inside, there he is! Yes, I was very shocked! I thought he was in DC that day, not flying back! He told me what happened Friday and Saturday, then at 10 pm he went to return my mom's key, get his sister at work, he rides w/her to her house where he left his vehicle while he was gone and came back home while I was asleep. The unit he's been RSTing w/had drill this weekend, so Sunday he visits them in civilian clothes and tells them what happened. No one seems to know anything about when he's deploying or where, hence the title. Vx has never been deployed, which is all he wants to do, not knowing and dates continuously being changed is probably bothering me more than the actual deployment will!

intro

Welcome to my new blog! Let me introduce some people:

Vx: How many people can tell you the full name of Vx? I only know one: my husband. He's a jack of all trades, does drywall, paints walls, drives a tow truck, kung-fu, flies helicoptors and planes, takes photos, fixes computers, and tries to keep his wife happy. Oh yeah, and he's in the Army Reserves, and even then he does different jobs: funeral detail, color guard, recruiter, guard duty, CBRN, textile, and who knows what else.

P: The closest thing we'll have to children will probably be our kitty. She's all white w/green eyes and the only member of our immediate family that has a tattoo. A former neighbor of ours rescued her and she made our home her home. She enjoys sleeping, cleaning herself, and playing w/milk rings, shoe laces, and various balls and papers.

Me: Save the best for last! My favorite things are music, staying up all night and sleeping all day, Star Trek, and many other things I can't think of right now. I'm shy, so I don't have many friends, and what friends I have I'm not a very good friend to, I don't have a desire to call or write them, so I get lonely and blog. I also work at an event center "part-time" and I just do whatever I can do when I'm not working. I still don't know what I want to do when I grow up so life's kinda tough, but I'm somehow managing.

ADD ONS:
Beauty Queen (BQ): My best friend since the 8th grade for her and the 10th grade for me. Since I graduated high school, we've had our ups and downs, but we always seem to work through them. The nickname comes from her 21st birthday (I think). She calls me while I'm at work drunk off her ass! Sometime during our conversation, she said something about being a beauty queen, and for a long time after that, I even had her listed in my phone as that.

OJ: This is BQ's son, he's almost 4 years old, and Vx is probably the closest thing to a father figure he has in his life. He loves cars, trains, and pretty much anything that Vx loves as well.

Buddy: We met as co-workers at FMT, "dated" until I met Vx, and remained friends all this time. His name comes from our first date, our gayish waiter at TGI Friday's kept calling him "Buddy" and stuck a lemon in his Sprite. I drove him around to places when he didn't have a license or a car, helped him get to work, move, pay his fines in person and attend classes and meetings for his alcoholism. Now he's almost 3 years sober, has a great job, car, house, GED and he's enrolled in a community college. Vx isn't very fond of our friendship, but I'm sure Buddy will be there for me when & if Vx is gone.

.

Right now this is all I can think of, I'm sure there's more so stay tuned...
