Random Tuesday Thoughts

Last Tuesday was my mom's birthday. I got her a funny card (something about me being the cute and smart one, he just signs whatever I stick in front of him), and some cupcakes w/different colors of frosting from Wal-Mart.

A little warning for all of you (it could be tmi for some of you): the blue frosting will turn your poop blue.

Saturday, Vx & I went to Pei Wei for dinner, since his favorite sushi restaurant was closed when we got there. Like we usually do when we dine here, we grabbed tons on fortune cookies, here are the fortunes:

Life is full of little decisions-like white or brown rice. (We had 2 of those)
A crab wonton a day keeps the doctor away.

Relax and enjoy yourself.
One learns most from teaching others.
A sound mind & healthy body bring many happy events to your family.

Another joy of apartment living, smoke detectors. Sunday, ours started beeping excessively. Apparently, you can't do a simple battery replacement on it, so Vx unhooked it from the wall, and advised me not to start any fires. I hope he said the same thing to my mom, she's the one that always has firefighters visiting her at work (something about screwy alarm system, sure).

Tomorrow, it'll hopefully be Vx's final dr.'s appt. w/the surgeon! Everything's looking normal again, he's still hurting a little if he moves the wrong way, but overall he seems to be in great shape. He did work for a few hours one day, it was for an old family friend of Vx, he runs his own company, but sometimes has Vx do smaller projects, he also paid an assistant to help out so Vx wouldn't have to do any lifting. Good thing, considering the possibility that the surgery was needed because of some work Vx did on his house.
