Six Word Saturday

Will my allergies act this way?

Yesterday, while waiting for my future boss to come into work, I decided to go walking at a park near there. It was a beautiful day, sun was shining, but the wind was crazy! After I got all the pre-employment stuff done (also renewed/fixed my library card in the process), I stopped by a roadside attraction that's been having work done to it on my way home. I guess being outside in the wind as much as I was aggravated my allergies, I'm feeling it today, & I was planning on meeting some local social media people at the park, next time I guess.

My job (starts in June) will be outdoors, is this how I'm gonna feel the whole time? I've worked at this job before & didn't feel this way, I won't be driving a golf cart around this time, so maybe I'll be ok. I hope so!

Have a great weekend!

Six Word Saturday

I suck, I haven't played along in a LONG time! If you've never played along before, its very simple, describe something in six words. My six words:

Who knew I would like hockey!

Two months ago, I never would have thought I would be attending almost every home game for this hockey team, let alone helping to promote them and Vx's club (they fly the blimp and indoor planes at the games). Watching the games have been so much fun! The one home game I couldn't attend, I listened to it online, which ended up in overtime with a 12 round shoot-out. If I'm home later tonight, I plan on listening to the away game as well.

Six Word Saturday

Thank god this week is over!

My boss apparently forgot about me, her manners, and how to return voicemails. All this because I took time off after my husband had surgery? You can read some more details about this here.

To play along, visit Cate's blog by clicking on the picture at the top of this post, or on the left sidebar.

Have a great weekend!

Six Word Saturday

It's Six Word Saturday!

Big event #1 is coming!

The event I love/hate starts Thursday, the boss still hasn't contacted me about it. I met my husband at this event 5 years ago, I had my car wreck driving to work during this event 3 years ago. I enjoy the big paycheck, but not the general public who doesn't want to follow the rules and leave the building/tent at closing time. I've seen some awesome bands perform the last 2 years (Flyleaf and Shinedown), last year there was some bad flooding in my tent, the year before that, porta potties full to the rim one night *shudders*.

Hope your weekend's going well!

Six Word Saturday

It's everyone's favorite day! Which mean's it also...

It's very simple (so easy a caveman can do it!) describe something in 6 words, this week's words:

Drill weekend attire for Vx: marshmallows!

Since his current unit's drills are mostly conference calls (speaking of which, one's about to start), he's wearing his army sweats (marshmallows). It's chilly in the apartment since the a/c's blowing, while the living room and our bedroom are freezing cold, mom's room isn't, so we have to freeze so her and her bf aren't sweating like pigs. Lovely visual indeed.

To play along (pictures and visuals optional) visit Call Me Cate's blog by clicking the picture above or on the left sidebar, use her Mr. Linky and leave her some well deserved love in the comments (if you don't, she might stick Tonya on you, something you don't want to happen).

Have a great weekend!

Six Word Saturday

It's Saturday (most people's favorite day, the jury's still out for me), so it's time for...

It's very simple, describe something in 6 words. I did struggle a bit today, but here's my six words:

September 11th, Warbird Fly-In, very patriotic!

The RC helicoptor/airplane club Vx is part of is having a fly-in today and tomorrow, the planes/helicoptors that are entered have to be military. He's gonna show a P-51 and fly someone else's F-15. The unit Vx does honor guard with is at a gun range this weekend (few hours away), so they won't be doing any special ceremonies. It's also my older sister-in-law's birthday today. I wonder if the drama queen will want Vx to do something for her today or not. I still don't know yet if I'll be working tonight for the fly-in or not. In other words, plans are still up in the air.

Have a good weekend, and remember those we lost 9 years ago.

Six Word Saturday

Yippee! It's Saturday, which means it's time for

It's pretty simple, describe something in 6 words, my 6 does involve another blog:

I'm happy, my suggestion was picked!

Yesterday, C. Beth at The One-Minute Writer asked for suggestions on today's prompt. She picked my suggestion! It seemed like an obvious choice, but I don't check that blog out as often as I should, so I wasn't sure when the last 6WS was done there (she does normal prompts most Saturday's).

To play along, visit both blogs today! The original home for Six Word Saturday can be found by clicking on the colorful picture at the top of this post or on the left sidebar, Cate rocks, so be nice to her! Also, visit this blog:

Have a great holiday weekend!

Six Word Saturday

Yay! It's Saturday again, meaning it's time for...

It's very simple, just describe something in 6 words, my words this week:

Scratched arms, inconsiderate husband, that's life!

And that's just Thursday! Vx aggravated me, & the cat's need to scratch my arm to pieces didn't help any. Thanks for reminding me why your such an inconsiderate jerk! At least the cat has tried to make up to me, the little hunter cried out & stood her ground when she found a grasshopper, until I got rid of it. Grass snakes, grasshoppers, she tries to protect her humans!

To play along, visit Cate's blog by clicking on the colorful picture at the top or on the left sidebar, use her Mr. Linky w/your 6WS link, and leave her some love in the comments section. If your lucky, she'll even stop by for a visit.

Enjoy your weekend!

Six Word Saturday

Oh boy! It's Saturday and time for

If you've never played before, all you do is describe something in six words, this week, I'm going to use a phrase I've said a few times this week to the cat:

"I'm sorry that your feeling better!"

Monday evening, I took her to the vet, they updated her shots (it was almost time for her 3 year shots & I never brought her in for the 2 year ones) & gave her a pill. By Wednesday, she was back to her normal bad ways. But those few days did allow my arms and hands to heal up!

Six Word Saturday

The weekend has now arrived, so it's time for...

If you've never played this fun game, it's easy, just describe something in 6 words. This week's words:

I hope the cat's not sick!

My husband thinks she may have worms, ew! I'm not looking forward to the car ride, last time she went to the vet, she cried the whole way there and back. We were never sure if the crying was because she was in a pet carrier, or the car ride since she was still crying some in the waiting room. Also, neither of us have been working much in the last few months, and she is overdue for her yearly shots and check-up by several months (I blame life).

To play along, visit Call Me Cate's blog by clicking on the banner at the top or on the left sidebar, add that cool colorful button to your 6WS post, stick the link in Mr. Linky (that sounded dirty), and leave Cate some love. If your one of the lucky random.org selectee's, she'll even visit your six words.

Have a great weekend!

Six Word Saturday

Step away from the scissors, it's time for:

If you've never played along before, all you do is describe something in 6 words, it's 11:30 at night, and I just figured out my words:

Welcome to all my new followers!

It seems like overnight, I went from having about 16 to 21! Wow! I'm amazed some seem to enjoy my crap I spew out with my fingers. Hope I don't disappoint you or bore you to tears.

To visit the original home of 6WS, click on the banner at the top of this post, or on the left sidebar to visit Call Me Cate's blog. She won't bite (no guarentee's on Tonya or Rusty). If you post a 6WS entry on your blog, please use her Mr. Linky w/an exact link, if random.org (or whatever that website is) chooses your entry, she'll visit you, she also encourages everyone to visit some of the other links posted.

Hope your having a great weekend!

It's Saturday, and time for:

Six Word Saturday

Yay! It's finally Saturday, and time for Six Word Saturday.

My words this week:

Will this week ever end? Geez!

It's been raining, but only when I'm out driving apparently, kicking the PTSD in. Also, my husband's having surgery next week, he has a hernia, so a net is gonna be added.

Great

Quit reading my shit, and go visit 6WS by clicking the colorful picture above (or on the left sidebar), use Mr. Linky with an exact link to your post, and leave some love for Cate.

Have a good weekend!

Blogging

I suck at it!

There are some that manage to daily (or almost daily) pop out a post, whether it be several posts typed out one day then scheduled to appear daily, or they force themselves to type one out everyday. I can't do that, my mind doesn't work that way. Well, I guess I could, but they would be posts about what I watched on tv, ate, where the cat bit/clawed me, what my husband &/or mom did that day to piss me off, etc. I'll spare you from that. If you really want to know what I have to say on a daily basis, twitter is the way to go. Short spurts of stuff, usually doesn't go together, easy enough for me to do.

If you are one of those people that would like to write daily, may I suggest some blogs and websites where you can get some inspiration?

Plinky posts daily prompts, and allows users to also suggest things. You can add photos and maps to better describe things. You can also set it up so when you fill out a prompt, it will either automatically post it to your blog or you can post it manually (this blog is manual, the one I keep private is automatic). I believe you can also set it up to post to Facebook as well, but I never do that.

The One-Minute Writer: C. Beth rocks! Last I counted she had 3 blogs, with daily entries on at least 2 of them. This one encourages people to take one minute out of your life and write about the daily prompt. There's even a pop out clock that will do a one minute countdown for you. Obviously some prompts will encourage you to write for more than a minute, which is fine.

Seven Days Seven Answers: Call Me Cate is taking a break from this one, but you may still get some ideas from this blog. She's also encouraging people to still participate on the days that no winners were rewarded, so if you have a worthy entry, you may get one of those nifty number buttons on my sidebar as well (or a different one)! While my entries were normally too short to want to turn into blog entries, yours may not be that way. I hope someday it will come back, but for now I'll have to sit, pout, and wish I hadn't been too busy (or a deer staring into headlights when I saw the prompt) to participate.

Some blogs do specific types of entries on specific days, here's a few I've found that I enjoy:

randomtuesday

Keely has came up with some very random things to post on this day and encourages others to also get random with their blogs.

Wifey and her husband are both in the Navy (she's in the Reserves, he's an active duty sailor), she's only been doing this for two weeks, but she has came up with some really good questions so far!

This is Call Me Cate's main blog, the longest meme I've been participating in and my favorite weekly feature. All you do is describe something in six words, simple enough! It also has many participants and some will visit you as well.

All these ladies track the participating blogs, so please use their Mr. Linky's every week so they & their other participants will find your entry. Call Me Cate request that you use the exact link, so its easier to find that entry, to do this, when the entry posts on your blog, select that entry to come up on your screen, copy the link in your address bar, then go to their blog, find their Mr. Linky and paste the link in the appropriate box. I do this on all three so anyone looking for that specific entry can find it and not necessarily read my ramblings about P's latest mischief or how much my job sucks.

Six Word Saturday

It's time for Six Word Saturday! Very fun game, just describe something in six words, easy enough! Click on the colorful banner for Six Word Saturday to visit Call Me Cate and participate.

My six words for this week:

Happy Fourth of July to everyone!

Hope you have a fun and safe weekend, this is the first one I've had off in a few years, so idk what we'll do yet.

Six Word Saturday

It's that time of the week again, where we pay tribute to armadillo's with lasers by playing Six Word Saturday!

If you've never played this fun game before, you just describe something using six words. Simple enough? My words for this week are out of exhaustion:

Will everyone please let me sleep!

The worst thing about being a night owl and working a job that caters to that life is the other people around me that don't live that way, or at least not on a daily basis. While attempting to sleep on Friday, maintenance started working on someone's stair case (sawing and hammering away) what seemed like right outside my bedroom window, then if that didn't wake me up fully, the neighbor with noisy pipes took a shower, the ones on the other side of my bedroom wall were watching tv at a loud volume, the cat was crying into my door (I have to keep it closed or she'll never let me sleep), then my mom and her boyfriend woke up, started being noisy in the kitchen. My mom works nights Saturday-Monday nights, but becomes this annoying day person the rest of the week. If my husband was around, I'm sure he would've added some yelling at his computer to the mix, but luckily his job gave me a small break from that. I finally went back to sleep AFTER my alarm went off, Vx called me an hour before I needed to be at work, so I hopped up, threw on several layers of clothes (did I mention I'm working outdoors, sitting in my car?) ate part of some pizza at home, took some more with me, grabbed lunch and left. It's a miracle I'm making it to work on time or very close to it!

To participate in this fun game, click on the pretty graphic on the top (the colorful one, not the pillows) to visit Show My Face, post a comment, use Mr. Linky, and watch out for the armadillos, lasers, and I'm sure there's some scissors laying around as well.

Enjoy your weekend, I'll be trying to sleep and making a little green.

Six Word Saturday

It's time again for Six Word Saturday! This week, my entry will be a little more creative than the others:

No more chicken and stars soup

I've been living on the stuff for the last week and a half, I never want to see it again! Unfortunately, these two cans and maybe another one or two still remain. The one on the right is a convenient cup you can microwave and drink, the one on the left is the original stuff that you have to either cook on a stove or pour into a microwave bowl. My jaw is improving and the swelling is minimal, so I should be able to eat more normal foods at a more normal pace and time soon.

To participate in the fun little game, visit Call Me Cate's wonderful blog by clicking on the colorful picture at the top (not the soup one) to play along, grab a button, Mr. Linky, and leave a comment. You can also check out some of the other 6WS entries to see what other creative (or not so creative) things that others have came up with.

Another six words I just thought up:

I hate the freezing cold arena!

While this is one of the better posts to work at (hours, access to plug ins, ability to move around, little noise, etc.) I HATE THE COLD!!! Most of the time I've worked at this post, I have had to wear 3 or 4 layers of clothes and use a heating blanket just to somewhat stay warm, EVEN WHEN IT'S 100 DEGREES OUTSIDE!!! Right now its not, but in the middle of the night, it was warmer outside than it was inside, and its still winter time. I also have to walk up and down the stairs which bothers me at times. There is an elevator, but it's famous for getting stuck, like it did last night with a member of the cleaning crew inside. Luckily he was a skinny man, and was able to push the door open wide enough to get out.

This same cleaning crew, a former member of it died last week. He started about the same time I did, he flirted with me, was about my age, but the way he died and how others treated his injured/dead body does upset me. He was shot at a restaurant in a not so nice part of town in the middle of the night. People walked over his body to get their food, and when the ambulance and police arrived, people were in their way, so EMT's were unable to work on him until they arrived at the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. There were a bunch of people around, but no witnesses will come forward.

Sorry to be a debbie downer, but those are my thoughts at this moment. Tonight should be my last night in the arena for a while, then back to my "normal" life.

Try to have a good day, and have some fun for me!

Six Word Saturday

The weekend has returned, so it's time for another edition of Six Word Saturday! Last week, I was unable to participate mainly because of my work schedule (long hours, no internet access at work, my Blackberry doesn't like leaving comments on blogs, etc.) so this week's words:

My cat and I are drugged

She's been playing with her catnip, and I took a pain pill about an hour ago, so were both being loopy together. Tuesday I had 3 wisdom teeth pulled, the one on the left was impacted, so I've been having jaw pain on that side.

To participate in this fun game, visit Call Me Cate's blog by clicking on the picture above, please use Mr. Linky and leave her a comment, she'll even show your 6WS some love.

Enjoy your weekend!

Six Word Saturday

#booyah! It's time for another Six Word Saturday, the object of this wonderful game is to describe something in six words. It's harder than you think! This week's words:

Greatest diet plan: sleep 18 hours

I haven't been feeling very well since Thursday morning, so I've been sleeping for about 18 hours straight, wake up, eat something, play around on the computer, watch a little tv, enjoy a small snack, then go back to sleep. At least I'm sleeping through the pain without drugging myself silly!

To play along, click on the lovely graphic towards the top of this post, show Cate some love by using Mr. Linky and leaving a comment for her to read between her family torture sessions.

Have a great weekend! I'll be sleeping.

Six Word Saturday

I believe most everyone who would be reading this are trying to stay warm indoors (with electricity, obviously) so what better activity to do on a freezing ass cold day like today then Six Word Saturday? My (somewhat) creative mind tried to make this phrase only six words, this is what I came up with:

What's this stuff on the ground?

Yes, the white stuff has returned, and unlike the normal stuff that falls from the sky, it's not melting. Look snow, just because you stuck around during the Christmas holiday doesn't mean you need to stay around again, so melt, be gone!

To participate in this fun little game (that should keep you warm), visit Call Me Cate's wonderful blog by clicking on the picture that (I assume) her creative mind came up with, please use Mr. Linky and leave a comment. She shouldn't bite, and I'm sure she won't try to stab you with needles to give you a flu shot.

I'm listening to a radio station while typing this, they just did a PSA for flu shots, much better than yesterday's National Guard PSA. It was obviously made for Oklahoma, 2 guys are outside filming a tornado heading in their direction (AKA what you do when a Tornado Warning is issued, for a Tornado Watch, the camcorder goes on the charger) and they see the National Guard drive by, in the direction on the tornado. It gave me a chuckle.

Hope everyone stays safe, power stays on (or at least stay off for a short time) and try to have some fun!
